during the COVID 19 pandemic 2020
It has been a very difficult time for Fr. Peter and the staff of Let the Children Live! in Colombia during this time of uncertainty. All regular activities have been cancelled for the foreseable future and all efforts have shifted to helping the families that come to Casa Walsingham to safely get food for survival. Parcels are prepared and distributed in a safe, careful manner. Well over 1,000 individuals have been assisted but the need is overwhelming and continues to grow. Fr. Peter is unable to travel for any fundraising engagements at this time so the financial situation is quite serious. Please consider being a regular donor via the charity's website Let the Children Live!

Casa Walsingham is the center of activity for Fr. Peter Walters' work in Medellin, Colombia. His organization, Let the Children Live! serves over 500 children who are on the margin of society with no one to turn to. But here, at the Center, they find hope and love. -
Life at Casa WalsinghamCasa Walsingham is home to various programs. When the children arrive they are assessed to define their needs and whether they can be linked up with a family or other organization.
Some of the services offered include:
- Street worker program for children that live in the street. (calle)
- Working children program (nino trabajador)
- Convivencia after school program
- Special needs program (sala vip)
- Teen Age Mothers and Baby Program both before and after the birth
In each shift (morning and afternoon) Fr. Peter Walters' staff take care of about 100 children--feeding up to 200 children a day. They are fed, clothed, taught social skills, and given medical care, psychological support, and legal assistance to get paperwork to qualify for services the state provides to improve the quality of their lives.
An important aspect of this special place is for the children to have FUN! The dedicated staff organize many social activities to help them learn to get along with others and enjoy themeselves playing all kinds of games. There is a soccer league, time for art and handicraft, and other activities.
The heart of this special place is the Chapel located on the top floor: a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Walsingham where Mass is offered daily and children are prepared for the sacraments. -
COR VIDENS - The Seeing Heart Choir
This choir was started a few years ago by Fr. Peter and his organization to give street-children and other children on the margins of society a voice which will be heard around the world.
They recently performed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Let the Children Live" in Colombia. His hope is to take the choir on tour to the UK next summer and perhaps that will include a stop in the USA.
