Moveable Feasts
Our Parish is growing at a rapid pace and one of the needs we have seen and that has been expressed by both new and old Parishioners is a means for us to get to know each other and develop a greater sense of family among us.
George Greene has agreed to head up a new undertaking to do that: Moveable Feasts
What are Moveable Feasts?
Moveable Feasts are periodic dinners for 8-10 parishoners that would meet in the home of a Host for just a social dinner. No agenda. The Host family for each dinner would provide the main course, and the other members would provide side dishes, bread, dessert, and wine if desired. Both couples and singles are invited.
The goal is to have a sit-down dinner to share a meal and get to know each other. Although the dinner would be for adults, nothing would preclude a group from organizing some family-focused activities or outings at other times.
The meals are intended to be simple, since the goal of the group is to get to know better your fellow parishioners and improve the sense of family within our Parish community.
They would begin after Easter and would meet from monthly to quarterly depending on the preferences of the group. They would continue until just before the next Lent, at which time the group participants would be realigned to include new participants and form new groups.
As much as possible, groups would be composed of parishioners from proximal Zip codes to minimize travel.
Each group would have a Moderator who would organize the first dinner and act as a contact person for the group. Please consider volunteering as a group Moderator.
