Chalon S. Murray, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, earned her Bachelor Of Music in Vocal Performance from Wheaton Conservatory of Music in Wheaton, Illinois and Master of Music in Choral Conducting from The Boston Conservatory, Boston, Massachusetts, where she also studied organ performance with James David Christie. Before joining the staff at the Cathedral Our Lady of Walsingham, Chalon was Director of Music and Organist at St Helena's Episcopal Church in Boerne, TX as well as an Associate Conductor of the Children's Chorus of San Antonio. She also taught at The Atonement Academy, where she and her husband developed a rigorous graded choir program for children in grades Pre-K through 12. Under their direction, the choirs were regular sweepstakes winners at the TPSMEA choral competitions. Students participated in both TPSMEA honors choirs and TMEA auditions, with numerous region, area and All-State winners. Presently, Chalon is very happy to be teaching at Holy House Academy, leading the Walsingham Treble Choirs and assisting her husband, Edmund, as Associate Director of Music of the Cathedral music program and Chorus Angelorum.
